Use the same data for print, web and email campaigns

In the traditional variable data world we are used to using flat data files but how do we make the jump to use this same data for a cross media campaign?

Upload a Web Campaign

In this method we can save a web campaign package file from a uDirect Indesign project. This is then uploaded into the XMPie dashboard and the full process from data hosting to creating a web site is driven by a selection of wizards.

When we talk about "flat data files" we mean data supplied in the format of Excel, Comma separated, tabbed delimited, etc....

uCreate XM

uCreate XM is a plug-in for Adobe Dreamweaver which allows for faster web development using a tool set for designing data driven web campaigns.

We can use the tools to create amongst other things, self registration forms, referral forms, email confirmations all linking back to our campaign database.
This usually requires the skills of an advanced Web Developer but the uCreate XM plug in allows none developers to create rich data driven web campaigns.

A few examples of uCreate XM functionality:

Creating an update form

In this example we link a HTML web form to the campaign database so users can see their data details and update or add as required on the web page. This is easily acheived using the uCreate XM tools without the need for any web development programming skills.

Adding an email trigger

In this example we show how easy it is to set up an email event. Once the customer fills in a web form they are sent to a confirmation page. On landing on the confirmation page an email is automatically sent out. This is all set up without the need for any coding experience utilising the Dreamweaver XM toolset.

Email

email is now part of most cross media campaigns and the OneMedia solution allows the processing of mass email blasts utilising the same data we have used for our campaign. No need for third party email products and duplicate data channels.

The dashboard console allows the operator to control when emails are sent out and data filters can be added to extract only applicable recipients to a send out.

Email blasts can be a implemented as a stand alone campaign or be part of a multi channel marketing event.

OneMedia Analytics is a way for marketers to track and manage marketing campaigns, essential in demonstrating ROI. It is a Web-based tracking and reporting tool that monitors each phase of a multi-channel campaign which can consolidate across all channels - print, email and Web.

Information is automatically collected across all touch points giving marketers complete visibility of campaign performance in real-time. Marketing service providers and print providers can view the results and revise campaign tactics or flag customers to receive follow-up touch points to improve response rates and overall campaign effectiveness.

PersonalEffect Analytics provides the tools for measuring the success of a marketing campaign, based on campaign variables (ADOR Objects), recipient responses, and tracking the respondents' activities.

Acrona Motor Group

This retention based campaign uses a fictitious car company to showcase a new brand launch to existing customers in their database.

View the Acrona website using the self registration page. I have also added a couple of PURL's so you can see the personalisation for uniqiue customers.


The workflow track for this campaign is:

  • Initial printed flyer or email is sent to the customer advertising the new model with a link to a PURL
  • Customers who visit their PURL have the option to customise their own car model
  • You can then select to order an information booklet which is personalised using the options they have chosen on the web site
  • A confirmation email is sent out to the customer
  • The final link is using the campaign data from the ICP port option in uDirect to drive the personalisation of the information booklet.
